Pegatron, a Taiwan-based design and manufacturing company, has told Digitimes that they will be shipping out the CDMA version of iPhone 4 in Q4 of this year. The source from Pegatron also noted that the manufacturing company is currently utilizing their plants in Shanghai, China to produce these phones.

A few lucky Motorola Droid owners will soon be receiving the much anticipated Android 2.1 update by this afternoon. Verizon reports that the over-the-air update will first be distributed to a small number of Verizon Wireless test users. This perhaps, is Verizon’s way of gauging how well the first batch does before sending the rest of the update to the masses.

BlackBerry Storm 5.0 Software Update Available

The latest software update for the BlackBerry Storm was released over the weekend, bringing the current build to version 5.0. Customers can pick up the download through RIM’s Desktop Management Software or by visiting www.verizonwireless.com/storm and selecting “Software Download”. Updates to the software include improvements in rotation detection and touch features, SMS and MMS updates, 2G and 3G network stability updates, and a plethora of bug fixes. Verizon Wireless Gets Palm Pre Next year

Verizon Wireless is making statements that they will get the Palm Pre for their network “early next year”, in response to comments made by Sprint’s CEO, Dan Hesse. Sprint is trying to maintain exclusivity with the Palm Pre but if Verizon has their way, Palm may have the nation’s largest carrier above their heads. Another pending factor is Palm’s App Catalog, which conflicts with Verizon’s data plans and applications. Guess we’ll see it roll out some time next spring.
