Google released the Android 2.0 Operating System SDK to developers early this morning which includes a handful of new API’s, Bluetooth updates, Searchable SMS and Exchange support, new controls for the build in camera, improved multitouch keyboard, new browser with an easier UI (user interface) and support for HTML5, and much more.

Found on Crunch Gear, the following YouTube video shows how a group of hackers were able to create a multi-touch iPhone monitor running iPhone OS 2.0 software. The monitor even has accelerometer support and gesture control! Details about the hack state the iPhone OS is “basically a Linux Mach kernel” allowing it to be bootable on Intel hardware within an emulator which you can see when they first fire it up. Very cool and interesting.
