tapandtrack Website Syncs with Best-Selling Calorie Tracker App for iOS

Zagreb, Croatia – Nanobit Software today is pleased to introduce the tapandtrack website that enables syncing with their best-selling nutrition and fitness app for iOS, Tap & Track. Registration on the site is free to all owners of the software, and allows complete backup of all logs and data. Aiming to foster a worldwide community of Tap & Track users, the website includes all the features of the app: an offline database of over 300,000 food items, 2000 food brands, 700 restaurants, and 180 exercises; plus a daily record of calories, fat, saturated fat, protein, carbs, sugars, sodium, and fiber; and personalized graphs, BMI calculator, custom recipes and foods, and comprehensive reports.

While using an iPhone to search a database of 300,000 items may be convenient in a supermarket, it may seem less so at the kitchen table. Because all databases and personal Profiles on the website are identical with those on the user’s iOS device, a dieter may opt to use their home or office computer (and its full-sized keyboard and monitor) to enter daily tracking numbers, search the Food or Exercise databases, or plan future meals. Making a personal commitment to better nutrition and fitness through the Tap & Track app entails interaction with the app several times each day. Having that interaction by means of a standard size GUI makes using the app more enjoyable, and improves the chances that the dieter will follow through with the program.

Nanobit Software, the developers of Tap & Track, envision the tapandtrack website growing to encompass recipe sharing, nutritional tips, exercise ideas, personal dieting experiences, and even online weight challenges. They have stated, “tapandtrack is a place where you can live your dream about simple living and making healthy choices. A place where you can take complete control of your food intake and exercise regimen.”

The app’s operation is simple. First, the user completes a one-time personal Profile, which provides Tap & Track with all the necessary information for its recommending, graphing, tracking, and calculating functions. The following factors are included in the Profile: Starting Weight, Gender, Age, Height, Job Type (sedentary to extremely active), Diet Plan (gain or lose up to 2 lbs. per week), and Goal Weight. In addition, the user may customize their nutritional program to suit special dietary needs, their metabolism, etc. The optional, custom factors in the Profile include: Calorie Adjustment, Fat Budget, Carb Budget, Protein Budget, and Food Score Budget.

With the Profile completed, the user finds a total number of calories per day recommendation on their Daily tracking page. The app keeps a running tally of calories consumed through the day and also displays a bar graph as a percentage of the total recommended allowance. The Daily page has only two buttons, Add Food or Add Exercise. And this is where the app differentiates itself clearly from other calorie counting apps, the depth and breadth of its offline database of 300,000 different food items, including over 2000 different food brands, and over 700 different restaurants. The user may also add their own food items, recipes, exercises, etc.

“The new tapandtrack website is a wonderful opportunity for users of Tap & Track to backup all their data, and search the databases on a full-size computer,” commented CEO Alan Sumina. “Our hope is that users all over the world will come together on the site and discover others like themselves: people interested in living a healthy lifestyle by making healthy choices.”
