Boiler Blast is a classic puzzle game. The object, connect all the pipes from the water intake. Boiler Blast is made by Netistry Corporation, Netistry also has another app Runes.

Review

Boiler Blast is simply an addictive game. The turn on the classic is that there is a rat running around and when blocked, the rat can easily affect your timing. The clock is frantically ticking, adding more and more to the suspense. Unlike other pipe games, you have a very strict time limit. Also you must click the boiler for the pipes to activate. In other games, it would automatically send you to the next level, when you have the pipes correct.

In Boiler Blast you must connect all of the orange intake and outlets with yellow pipes. There are four different types of pipes, the one valve, straight, turn, and four valve. These must be turned to the correct orientation. You must try to avoid any leaks and the rat.

The game runs on a life system, adding to the intensity of the game. If you are unable to fix the intake you loose one life. If you cause a flood you loose two lives. If you run out of time the boiler explodes and you loose three lives.

The game has a nice layout, keeping it very simple. The green box is indicating what level you are on, the red box is for the amount of lives you have left, the yellow box is for the amount of points you have, and and the most dreadful one is the time in a blue box. On the bottom of the screen it shows the hammer, repair button, and different pipe types. The overall graphics are very simple and not too flashy, which in this case is a very good thing.

Overall, Boiler Blast is a great app for $0.99, it could use a few more features like Open Feint though. There are 48 levels all with the pesky rat.

Recommendation

I recommend this app to anyone who likes puzzle games, but usually gets bored of them.

Tips

1.Try to have as much open space as possible. This is so the rat cannot sneak into the maze, get stuck, and confuse you.

2. Be very calm, otherwise you will be prone to mistakes.

The app is just $0.99 in the app store and well worth it. Click here to buy it.
