Dallas, Texas – Big in Japan, the leader in barcode-powered shopping by mobile consumers, announced that Consumer Reports has incorporated ShopSavvy(R) barcode-scanning technology in its newly released iPhone app, Consumer Reports Mobile Shopper(TM). In addition, ShopSavvy’s 6.5 million users on the iPhone, Android and Nokia platforms will see a callout when they have scanned an item that Consumer Reports has tested, along with how many other models exist and have been tested in that category.

AdMob released a mobile metrics report for April and the numbers are astounding. The company reports that over their network, there are 8.7 million Android phones in the United States being used versus 10.7 million iPhones. World figures are slightly larger with 11.6 million Android phones and 27.4 million iPhones.

A Palm Pre fan has dug through the webOS of the popular Palm Pre and found a little discovery that may disturb some owners. The Pre reports your GPS location, apps you’ve used, usage of those apps, crash logs, and installed apps on a daily basis back to Palm themselves.
