Video: Quake, Next 3D Shooter Ported on Palm Pre
Just a few days ago, we reported about the webOS Internals delivering a port of DOOM for the Palm Pre, utilizing the SDL library found in webOS 1.3.5. Next up in the round of 3D shooters utilizing the SDL library is Quake. A video of a Need For Speed played on a Pre appeared last month. Doubts of its validity arose and the different App Catalog screenshots provided by PreCentral forum member Casperstar, only threw fuel on the fire. After yesterday’s release of webOS 1.3.5, the folks at PreCentral fired up the App Catalog and suddenly Casperstar was vindicated. The new App Catalog is an exact duplicate of the App Catalog that Casperstar showed them.Read More

Verizon Wireless Gets Palm Pre Next year
Verizon Wireless is making statements that they will get the Palm Pre for their network “early next year”, in response to comments made by Sprint’s CEO, Dan Hesse. Sprint is trying to maintain exclusivity with the Palm Pre but if Verizon has their way, Palm may have the nation’s largest carrier above their heads. Another pending factor is Palm’s App Catalog, which conflicts with Verizon’s data plans and applications. Guess we’ll see it roll out some time next spring.Read More
