California based developer, BrightStart today announces Pre-K Letters and Numbers 1.1, their interactive learning system with real time reporting for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Pre-K Letters and Numbers is the first of a series of applications aimed at young children who are just setting out to build a foundation of language and numeracy, develop fine motor skills, understand phonics and build their vocabulary with the bonus of blending common letters and counting.

A report by Silicon Alley Insider projects Apple could make as much as $40 million a year off their iWork suite consisting of the Pages, Keynote and Numbers apps for the iPad.
