Leading photography software developer Nik Software (www.niksoftware.com) exceeds the 9 million-user mark for Snapseed (www.snapseed.com), its popular photo editing and sharing app, for iPad and iPhone. Snapseed was released in June 2011. Within 6 months of its release, Snapseed was named iPad App of the Year in the iTunes Rewind 2011 and in 2012 received the coveted TIPA award for Best Mobile Photo App from the international Technical Imaging Press Association. With the extraordinary growth and popularity of mobile photography, the company expects to double its customer base in the coming year. Snapseed is available for all iOS devices and will ship for Android devices running Ice Cream Sandwich in the coming months. The Company’s Snapseed product line was recently expanded to include compatibility with Mac OS and Windows computers.

As part of Apple’s 72hr App Store on Facebook free app program, Nik Software announced that it will be giving Snapseed away for free for just 72 hours beginning at 12:00 p.m. PST on September 20, 2011 through 12:00 p.m. PST on September 23, 2011.
