BlackBerry Storm 5.0 Software Update Available

The latest software update for the BlackBerry Storm was released over the weekend, bringing the current build to version 5.0. Customers can pick up the download through RIM’s Desktop Management Software or by visiting www.verizonwireless.com/storm and selecting “Software Download”. Updates to the software include improvements in rotation detection and touch features, SMS and MMS updates, 2G and 3G network stability updates, and a plethora of bug fixes. International iPhone MMS FAIL

Our very own Chris Duke came across a new issue with iPhone MMS since it’s release earlier yesterday morning. When trying to send an MMS to a friend in the United Kingdom, the message failed to send. Clearly iPhone MMS with AT&T only works within the United States and not other carriers including O2 in Europe. Fail, AT&T…FAIL.

Although the company will spend $18 billion dollars of its profit this year alone to help upgrade and maintain its 3G connectivity across the United States, which can be contributed to the lengthy delay of MMS for the Apple iPhone, the networks are not all that AT&T was upgrading.
