Late last month, Apple released a new iOS 4.2 update which enabled a feature called AirPrint on the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. We showed you How to Set Up AirPrint with iOS 4.2 on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad with an HP compatible printer or by setting it up manually (albeit not the easiest way). Now we’re going to show you how to print on iOS 3 and iOS 4 without AirPrint, using an app called PrintJinni for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.

9to5Mac reports that with the iOS 4.2 update, the amount of electricity that is put out by the iPad’s 30-pin dock connector has now been cut back from 100mA down to only 20mA. This is great news for the iPad’s battery life, but not so much, for owners who previously used the Apple Camera Connection Kit for other things than what it was intended. Go to iPadmodo for more.

It looks like we’ll need to wait at least a couple more days for the public release of iOS 4.2. Apple has just seeded their third iOS 4.2 Gold Master (GM) build to developers, with an updated version number of 4.2.1.

Great news! A second GM build of iOS 4.2 for iPad was released this afternoon to specifically addresses the WiFi issues the first version had. According to reports, Apple wanted this version tested as quickly as possible so they may finally release the iOS 4.2 update to the general public.

MacStories, who first brought the news of tomorrow’s iOS 4.2 update release, now reports that it has been delayed due to WiFi connection issues experienced by users who tested the GM build on the iPad.

According to a MacStories’ source, Apple will release the much anticipated iOS 4.2 update on Friday, November 12th at 10 a.m. Tomorrow, we will see the release of iTunes 10.1 and Mac OS X 10.6.5 via Software Update which must be installed in order to run the new AirPlay and AirPrint features found in iOS 4.2.
