Google Earth, once available only for the iPhone, has been updated and adds support for the iPad. The latest version (Version 3.0.0) adds native support for the ‘magical’ iPad that includes full resolution imagery and boasts its own unique look for the iPad. Road layer has also been added in the latest version for both the iPad and iPhone.

When the Google Nexus One was first announced, there were several new features unveiled for the device and Android 2.1: interactive wallpapers, 3D graphics but support for Google Earth was not available at the time. It appears that it is no longer the case, as it is available on the Android Market now.

Google Earth received an update yesterday adding several new features to the iPhone application. Those additions include the ability to take your desktop computer created maps maps wherever you go, visual feedback from photos, businesses, and other icons, a new enhanced browser, and improved performance throughout the application. Google Earth is free through the App Store.
