HP sent out a press release this morning showcasing the new Palm operating system which is now dubbed “HP WebOS 2.0” since HP acquired the company, and the release of the Palm Pre 2. Slated for Verizon customers “in the coming months”, the Pre 2 is initially launching in France this Friday. The Palm Pre 2 is packed with a 1GHZ CPU, 5MP camera with LED flash, video, etc, 3.1 inch 480×320 multitouch glass display, 16GB storage, QWERTY keyboard, and a “sleeker, streamlined design”.

Just a few days ago Apple announced the dates for WWDC, where the next generation iPhone could be unveiled. According to the South Korean newspaper The Chosun, LG Innotek has began production on a sophisticated camera which will feature a 5 megapixel camera. Reports indicated that the production of the camera started earlier this month. The plan is to ramp up production for the second part of the year.

Quite possibly this is Gizmodo’s largest exclusive ever, something that is so large, Apple wants it back immediately.
