Touchgen did an extensive preview of the title and it is looking spectacular. EA apparently pulled a video showcasing the title in action, and judging by the Touchgen hands-on and the comments from various toucharcade members who’ve seen it, we should be in for a treat (the video also isn’t too hard to find for the web wizards out there). Apparently, the title is not on-rails like the Wii version but is an actual third person horror-adventure that controls similar and plays to the original.

Late last week Gameloft released an update for Modern Combat: Sandstorm(now free) along with a trailer for their upcoming sequel, Modern Combat 2. The trailer doesn’t include any gameplay footage as you’d might expect but does have an indy-style cinematic theme of warfare using an iPhone 4 and iPad as weapons. The game is expected to hit both devices this Fall.

Like Halo, Call of Duty? If so, then Archetype is the right game for you! Archetype is a first-person shooter game for the iPhone and iPod Touch. In Archetype teams of up to 5 battle it out to win.

Rather than battle through the Top 100 Paid app charts with thousands of other applications, ngmoco are trying something different. The company tweeted on their Twitter account they will be offering their highly anticipated first person shooter game (FPS), Eliminate, for free for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

We’ve posted a ton of Gameloft news in recent months and the releases keep coming. The company continues to bombard the App Store with consistent releases of titles, albeit some may be very similar to console knock-offs. With that being said, these games are being offered on the iPhone not by those necessarily who originally created them but by a company devoted to iPhone titles, development, and game publishing. This latest title is called Nova and although it looks like a carbon copy of Microsoft’s famous Halo Series, it’s bad ass.
