App developers should be grinning right now as Verizon Wireless has just announced that the “iPhone 4 will be available early next month”. This means the world’s largest cell phone carrier will add millions (93M currently) of customers to Apple’s iOS database, which means it should double the profits for current developers.

The fine folks at Boy Genius Report have it on well-trusted authority that Apple will begin rolling out their FaceTime video chat solution to other iOS devices. “How will this work?”, you ask? Well, for the iPad, it’s obvious going to take another hardware release, featuring front-and-back-facing cameras before this is possible. For the iPod Touch, you would probably just need a pair of headphones with a mic built-in, so a FaceTime release for iPods is much more imminent.
