QuinnScape today announced that within one week of its 6.1 update, Packing Pro peaked at #1 in Italy’s App Store iPad Travel section, and #2 in Canada’s iPhone Travel section. Packing Pro features an extensive, customizable catalog, several handy sample lists that can be used as templates, and unlimited, 100% customizable packing lists. Such great interest is due to version 6.1’s new multi-language support, as well as CSV import-export support, were also added with this update.

Rumors are buzzing around the net about the iPad’s international launch date being April 24th. The date came from the website, iPad In Canada, whose source mentioned Apple employees were told April 24th is a “black out period,” which meant none of them were allowed to take the day off. Apple has filed for trademarks on iBooks and iBook Store in Canada. The trademark, uncovered by Patently Apple, is extremely broad. Not only is it limited to text based media, but it also related to music, subscription services, and the possibility of selling content in meat-space.

Customers with Bell in Canada just got a little present today with the announcement that the Palm Pre will be available later this month, August 27th to be exact. The phone will cost $199.95 CAD (about $187 USD) but comes with a 3 year contract. Are you kidding me?
