In a recent lawsuit AT&T, Research in Motion and a number of other mobile companies are all the defendant in a patent suit that includes several smartphone related technologies that include email syncing and Bluetooth connectivity. Google released the Android 2.0 Operating System SDK to developers early this morning which includes a handful of new API’s, Bluetooth updates, Searchable SMS and Exchange support, new controls for the build in camera, improved multitouch keyboard, new browser with an easier UI (user interface) and support for HTML5, and much more.

A new update along with the long anticipated multiplayer option is now available for Harbor Master from Imangi Studios. The update includes Bluetooth connectivity for head to head multiplayer competitiveness. There was also a fast forward button added with configuration available and the ability to turn off auto docking options during game play. The highly requested feature keeps boats from docking automatically. Very cool!

Our friends at Gameloft have released a trailer for their upcoming game, Asphalt 5. The game is expected to be released sometime this month and features 33 of the most popular vehicles in the world including those from manufacturers like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Audi and Ducati. Other features include multiple challenges including Drift Contest, Cop Chase, Time Attack, Duel Mode, Last Man Standing and Escape, as well as Bluetooth and online multiplayer options.

We’ve posted a ton of Gameloft news in recent months and the releases keep coming. The company continues to bombard the App Store with consistent releases of titles, albeit some may be very similar to console knock-offs. With that being said, these games are being offered on the iPhone not by those necessarily who originally created them but by a company devoted to iPhone titles, development, and game publishing. This latest title is called Nova and although it looks like a carbon copy of Microsoft’s famous Halo Series, it’s bad ass.

The latest 1.3 update of Firemint’s game Flight Control allows iPhone and iPod Touch users to tether their phones together via a Bluetooth connection and compete against one another in multiplayer action within the game. Just with the regular game, you can draw flight paths to go off course towards the other Bluetooth connected iPhone or iPod, which sends that aircraft onto their map.

With the release of Apple’s iPhone 3.0 Software this morning, application development company ARC Touch are taking advantage of its new features with the release of Beam It!, a Bluetooth connected application that lets you share your contact information with any other device within range.
