Miami, Florida – Everything Techs today is pleased to introduce Home Run Derby Challenge 1.0, their accelerometer based game for iOS. Featuring realistic graphics and animation, the player swings by flicking his wrist quickly, a movement which is measured by the iOS device and translated into the corresponding action by the batter. Pitches come at various speeds, and only well hit balls will go over the fence for a home run. The player’s speed and reflexes are tested as they attempt to swing as hard as possible at exactly the right time, adding points by hitting home runs. Unlike some similar games, Home Run Derby Challenge provides added realism by allowing the batter to swing and miss, and to hit balls deep but not over the fence.

I am not much of a baseball fan, but going to an actual game can be fun. Gameloft recently just released Derek Jeter Real Baseball, so I gave it a try. I was actually a bit surprised that I actually enjoyed playing the game being that I really don’t like baseball much. Now there has been a few other baseball games on the mobile platform, however Real Baseball is the most ambitious one I have seen yet. Real Baseball brings a lot to table for baseball fans, but the first thing I noticed is the lack of real MLB teams, which was oddly misleading with the word “REAL BASEBALL” in the title. However this was not enough to totally ruin the game.
