It’s the wave of the future. Fandango is making the move by going paperless. They are in the process of testing out a plan to use 2D barcodes in theaters instead of paper tickets. Your tickets are delivered to a mobile device by way of a barcode in which the person taking the tickets can scan it with a 2D scanner. This is Fandango’s way of making things easier and getting rid of the need to pick up your purchased tickets once you arrive at the theater. Fandango is starting out with only a few theaters for now but we hope this will catch on quickly to more theaters in the near future.
