Miniclip forms Mobile Division to Develop Games for iPhone and Android

Samsung Ships One Million Galaxy S Phones in 45 Days

Today, Samsung announced in a press release that they’ve hit the one million mark with Galaxy S phones. As some of you may know, Samsung made a deal with all of the top 5 U.S. carriers (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and U.S. Cellular) for the Galaxy S series, and this broad distribution strategy has appeared to have paid off as they have surpassed the million mark in just over 45 days.
Dell Steps Their Game Up with Android Powered Aero Smartphone

Dell is stepping their game up (kind of like Marcus PSP- video below) and entering the Smartphone octagon with their own Android powered phone called the Aero. Available through AT&T for $99 with a 2 year contract ($299 without), the phone has a 624MHz processor, runs on Android’s Cupcake OS (version 1.5), supports multitasking, and packs a 5 megapixel camera.

OpenFeint, one of mobile gaming’s foremost social-gaming platforms, has updated its functionality with version 2.6. Users who play games running the new version will be able to recommend apps to friends via SMS from within the app. Even if your friends don’t have the same smartphone OS, you can text a recommendation and a link to the Apple App Store or Android Market.
Flash 10.1 Now Available for Google Nexus One

Google announced this afternoon at an Android/Adobe event that Nexus One owners can finally get their hands on Flash 10.1. The app is currently available in the Android Marketplace and is only a 5MB download. As the description reads, you can now “visit m.flash.com for cool Flash sites”. Android 1, iPhone 0.

Report: Android is #1 Selling Smartphone OS in the U.S.

The prophecies are true… after only two years in the smartphone game, the Android OS is the top-selling OS in the U.S. (Q2 2010 sales). With 33% market share, Android beat out RIM (28%) and Apple’s iOS (22%), according to NPD’s latest wireless market research (so take that for what it’s worth, since it’s consumer panel survey information from a limited sample size).

Yesterday, Verizon left a quick note with the Engadget folks about a big Android update. The note stated that the original Motorola Droid would be getting a full-on Froyo update (Android 2.2) next week. Good news for all you Droid-backers who thought it may never happen!
