The universe is vast, endless, and Galaxy on Fire 2 HD certainly conveys this well. This space opera adventure by FISHLABS is the high-resolution version of their earlier release of the same title, and optimized for the iPhone 4S and iPad 2. While the game may install and play on certain older devices, be warned that your framerate may suffer; thus the developers are only supporting it for the A5 devices.

UK based indie developer Nathan Costall today introduces ObstaBall 1.0, his new adventure/sports game for the iPhone and iPod touch. With ObstaBall, the user has to save the world from the mysterious Number Eight, by knocking pool balls, hypnotised by Number Eight’s controlling mind, into various containers. For a real world game play comparison, it’s like playing pool on a crazy golf course. ObstaBall features 18 levels, with 3 game modes per level and 162 stars to collect.

The title is a bit of a misnomer. Pocket RPG by Crescent Moon Games and Tasty Poison is not so much of an RPG as it is an action game with RPG elements, and obviously, an iPad does not fit into a pocket—not a regular-sized pocket at any rate. That said, this dungeon crawler makes battling monsters so fun it might just make you want to lug your iPad around more often, even if you have to carry a bag to do so.
