Google’s AdMob recently released its iPad App SDK to developers and make it easy for advertisers to market their goods on all iDevices. AdMob’s SDK will help build ads with future plans to include support using HTML5 so advertisers can embed videos within the ad themselves. Very cool.

Today has been a day of great news for iPhone users well 3Gs owners anyway. But its a bad day for Google in my book. Back in November of 2009 Google announced its plans to purchase newly started mobile ad company adMob for a reported 750 million dollars.

AdMob has recently uncovered some interesting stats about the purchasing behaviors for applications and specific devices. They surveyed iPhone, iPod Touch, Android and WebOS users and found that Android users love their free apps. Apple and Android users each download around nine apps per month, the big difference is Apple customers are twice as likely to pay for those apps. In fact, 50 percent of iPhone users and 35 percent of iPod Touch owners buy at least one app a month. When compared to Android users who only 21 percent are likely to purchase an app in any given month. WebOS users download about 6 apps per month. Of course, the Apple App Store has thousands more apps on offer compared to Palm’s storefront, which could add to the difference in behavior.

An announcement was made at AdMob late yesterday that the company has reached an agreement with Google to purchase the advertisement company for $750 million dollars…I wish I thought of it first. Founded in 2006, AdMob’s clients include Coke, Ford, Procter & Gamble, CBS Mobile, and more, where the company sells ads across multiple mobile platforms including Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Android. The acquisition by Google would allow the company to gain a very large market share in the mobile advertisement industry.

When it comes to advertising on mobile devices, one company has made a name for themselves: AdMob. While AdMob has received great praise from customers who have advertised there, it almost seems that their successful growth is hurting their own business. So how does this relate to Appmodo?
