Map Packs or Expansion Kits for Apps?

For any console gamers you know what I am talking about and I hope this passes over to iPhone apps, for example the current GTA app is 9.99 but it would be really cool if they added another map with more missions to expand the game and offered it as an in app purchase. Not even sure if this is possible but it seems like it would be pretty cool, I have a ton of 0.99 and I would gladly fork over another dollar for a new map. I have not scene this and I was just wondering if any dev or anybody else can shed some light on this surely im not the only one to think of it, or maybe its being done and I just haven't noticed.
