Silicon Alley Insider recently posted a new graph detailing how all the app stores stand against each other, in what some might call a race but it looks like Apple has a lead that may never be beat. According to this source the Apple App Store now has over 170,000 apps in its catalog, a staggering amount compared to its closest competition with 30,000 in the Andriod Store. The real surprising numbers are in that it only took Apple 10 months to add 120,000 apps that that does not even include the iPad App Store that I am sure will add even more cross over apps. Blackberry came in third with 5,000 apps and Palm in last with only 2,000 apps.

Don’t miss a thing.” A far cry from the pale and emotionless woman we all associated the Pre with when it first came out. This is one ad that most consumers can definitely get behind. It shows the Pre screen floating in front of a woman walking down a city street. She makes working with multiple notifications, multiple apps, and mapping look easy and fun.
