Samsung Ships One Million Galaxy S Phones in 45 Days

Today, Samsung announced in a press release that they’ve hit the one million mark with Galaxy S phones. As some of you may know, Samsung made a deal with all of the top 5 U.S. carriers (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and U.S. Cellular) for the Galaxy S series, and this broad distribution strategy has appeared to have paid off as they have surpassed the million mark in just over 45 days.
Dell Steps Their Game Up with Android Powered Aero Smartphone

Dell is stepping their game up (kind of like Marcus PSP- video below) and entering the Smartphone octagon with their own Android powered phone called the Aero. Available through AT&T for $99 with a 2 year contract ($299 without), the phone has a 624MHz processor, runs on Android’s Cupcake OS (version 1.5), supports multitasking, and packs a 5 megapixel camera.
QuakeCon 2010 Demo Showcases RAGE on iPhone at 60FPS

This week at QuakeCon 2010, John Carmack (creator of huge titles such as Quake, Wolfenstein 3D and Doom) showed off a demo of RAGE on an iPhone 4 at a brilliant 60 frames per second refresh ratio… amazing. Carmack even states that it “runs great on an original 2G iPhone” which speaks volumes considering the lack of power for the old iDevice. The game is said to be available in the App Store sometime this Fall.

Apple has been dealing with piracy and fake knock off iPhones from day 1, but as the smartphone division becomes more popular, those who are replicating the phones are getting much more ‘visually’ accurate with their re-creations and even more cheap with their claims.

Android users on Verizon’s network received notifications this morning that the latest OS update for the Motorola Droid can be downloaded over the air, bringing the Android ‘Froyo’ build to 2.2.

I just took a look at a pair of Wicked Audio’s earbuds, and they won over my ears. However, Schosche’s IDR655m just took them back. With their insane production of sound, these pretty much $100 headphones are ones that cannot and should not be missed!

A new set of government rules, announced today, includes the legalization of smartphone “jailbreaking”. “Jailbreaking” involves hacking a smartphone to allow the installation of “unapproved” applications for a given operating system. What has been a hazy “rule” for a long time, is now officially off the “naughty list” for all smartphone users.

You can never experience truly amazing sound quality with the factory ear buds included standard with all iPhones and iPod Touches. They’re just not good enough.
