Lenovo gave the folks at MobileCrunch a chance to check out their latest smartphone at CES 2010. It is an Android-based phone with a complete facelift; an interesting mix of webOS, iPhone, and Android features.
The shape is pleasing, with a good solid feel. It boasts a gorgeous 3.7″ 800×480 OLED screen with volume buttons on the left side and a reprogrammable button on the right. The OS is Android, perhaps 2.0 at launch time, though Lenovo declined to say when that might be.
It has GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi and it’s running on a Snapdragon processor. There is a connector on the left side with a cover that attaches magnetically and allows the Lephone connect to what is envisioned as a series of peripherals.
The plan is to release the device in China first, before expanding to the US. No carriers were mentioned as they were still working that out for China.

The Lenovo phone may connect to peripheral devices? That, combined with the screen size, the processor and the overall look and feel, may make this is a better choice than the Nexus One in many ways. That isn't in line with the hype…..but the peripheral thing certainly got my attention.
palm pre mixed with a crappy samsung os. Does not seem like it is very friendly nor would I like that massive bulky add on just for a keyboard/case. They should add the virtual laser keyboard or something along those lines into the phone see people can skip the hassle of attached keyboards. Along with that does this phone still use the regular android market or does it require a Lenevo market? Ah, don't fix something that is not broken.
