Apps Useless After Upgrading To iPhone 3.0 Software

iPhone 3GS with 3.0 SoftwareSo you’re all excited because you just picked up the iPhone 3.0 software update this morning, but come to find out all of your applications don’t work now because they are not approved yet for the 3.0 operating system. EPIC FAIL!

Due to Apple’s extensive approval process and lack of approvals because of the World Wide Developers Conference last week, a majority of applications have yet to receive 3.0 updates thus rendering them completely useless. Hopefully Apple fixes this problem soon or else there will be a lot of upset customers!

**UPDATE: 7:50PM PSD: I performed a full phone restore and re-download of the 3.0 software update and the problems have seem to be lifted. App Store updates bouncing on iTunes password authentication though. If you are experiencing any issues with applications please do this.**

Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Comment below!

I have about 48 apps on my iPhone with 3.0 and I haven't encountered any problems yet, but then again I haven't extensively tested them all. I'm sure there will be a ton of updated apps in the App Store over the next week or two. I'm shocked there haven't been more in the past week, however. C'mon Apple… approve those apps!

  2. I have a full set of apps and none of them have failed yet.

I've restarted the phone several times already! Same problem!

What apps aren't working for you?

I just went through and loaded all my apps… no problems. If you can't get any of your apps to run, I'd try doing a restore and if that fails, try re-downloading the 3.0 update (not sure how to do that but I'm sure there's a way).

So far, BatteryLog isn't working for me. I havn't looked at all my apps yet. But BatteryLog is definately not working. It starts up and shows me a blank dialog popup with a close button. It should be showing me data about the battery in that dialog. The developers know about this and are working on a fix now. Pity they didn't check sooner.

I suspect that there will be a lot of apps that get updated over time to be 3.0 compatible. It just surprises me that more are not ready since Apple wasn't allowing apps that were not compatible with 3.0 into the store.

All of my apps work fine after the 3.0 upgrade.

My PhotoKast program is not working properly.

Same. No apps work after upgrade. How do you restore?

  11. disguestedwithapple says:

None of my apps are working. Restoring? Will that erase all my apps? I thought restore meant it reverted back to original condition – meaning no apps. etc..

i just updated the software on my iphone which was previously jailbroken, and it thought after updating it i would have to get it unclocked again, but that wasn't the case. it updated the software and all the built in programs work however wen i download an application from the app store, they dont work. it comes for like 2 seconds and then goes back the home screen? why?
