Avenza Launches PDF Maps App 2.0 on iOS

Avenza PDF MapsAvenza officially announced the availability of PDF Maps app 2.0 for iOS which has been made possible with the feedback of avid users who use the current app in locations where internet service is not available, such as navigating in air, water or mountainous areas.

The Toronto based company that has changed the way digital maps are used, especially for people that work in the wilderness (ex. firefighters, surveyors) or those that engage in outdoor activities (ex. off-road vehicles, hikers, mountain-bikers etc.), has incorporated suggestions made by its users to further enhance tracking features such as real-time tracking and notes on elevation.

With the latest updates in PDF Maps 2.0, users will appreciate the breadth of tool management features:

  • Tracking real-time movement with GPS which includes noting speed and elevation statistics
  • Saving, exporting and importing tracks in KML format
  • Saving measurements to line data as well as importing and exporting lines in KML format
  • “Map Features” list for easy organization of placemarks, lines and tracks including folder enhancements
  • Improved export accuracy
