time2words for iOS – Minimalist, Text Clock Currently Available Free

Munich, Germany – HELIOSapps today is pleased to announce time2words 2.0 for iOS, now free of charge until the end of September 2013, an update to its minimalist clock that displays the approximate time as text. A marvelous objet d’art on any iDevice, the app can also transform any large screen display into video art. It features operation in portrait or landscape orientation, white letters on a black background or the reverse, and localization for eight languages. While the clock is internally accurate to the second, viewers relax as the staggered text fades from “almost five thirty” to “five thirty” to “just after five thirty.” The pace of living decelerates, as users are freed from the tyranny of the sweep-second hand and digital readout. The current update includes two new languages (French and Spanish), optimization for iPhone 5, improved font rendering, and an integrated brightness control.

Feature Highlights:
* Time can be displayed in eight languages: English (American or British), French, Spanish, Italian, German, Bavarian-German, Austrian-German, and Swiss-German
* Two display modes: white on black or black on white, which complements white iDevices perfectly
* Display brightness is adjustable
* Hour gong (can be switched on/off)
* Custom time can be set (convenient while traveling)
* Device’s auto-lock feature can be deactivated (so that time2words is permanently switched on)
* Shows the current time with an accuracy of plus/minus two-and-a-half minutes
* Draws the line between day and night at 12:00 noon and 12:00 midnight, respectively – either noon or midnight will light up
* With an iDevice and an Apple TV 2/3 (or a HDMI adapter), you can convert your TV into a stylish clock
* time2words runs as a Universal app on iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch

For those who love great design and appreciate how inanimate objects in the environment impinge on behavior, time2words succeeds both aesthetically and functionally. Its all lower-case, bold, sans serif, font bespeaks an unselfconscious modernity. And its unexpected, idiomatic method of conveying the time of day has the effect of de-emphasizing the passage of time. With time2words on display, people are more likely to enjoy one another’s company, chat, and decompress. Every two-and-a-half minutes, the display gracefully changes, and two, three, or four words light up from a permanent collection of 25, barely visible.

“It is important to evade the pressure of time and to recharge the internal batteries,” commented Jan Schulenberg of HELIOSapps. “During periods of burn-out, it is very comfortable to use a clock that does not pay attention to every minute and is an exquisite piece of decoration as well.”

Display Language Support:
* English (American), English (British), French, German, German (Northwest), German (Southeast), Bavarian German, Austrian German, Swiss German, Italian, and Spanish

Device Requirements:
* iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S, 5, iPod touch (3rd, 4th and 5th gen) and iPad
* Requires iOS 5.0 or later
* Universal app optimized for display on all iOS devices
* 1.6 MB

Pricing and Availability:
The clock that writes time – time2words 2.0 – is currently available free in the App Store until the end of September 2013 (normal price is $0.99 (USD) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Lifestyle category.
