MiniSquadron Developed by FungFung, MiniSquadron is an amazingly fun airplane dog fighter app that has super fun gameplay and awesome multiplayer action offering great pick-up-and-playability with 8 different maps, hundreds of attack waves, 56 unlockable planes this app has hours of fun to offer.

Review

MiniSquadron is an action packed airplane fighter app that has outstanding maps, graphics, sounds and gameplay with tons of unlockable planes. When I first started to play this app I struggled a bit with the steering to the point where I lost some interest. I picked it back up and stayed with it and after playing it for 30 or so minutes the steering became second nature and I quickly found myself flying like a pro pulling off low altitude barrel rolls with ease. This app brings a lot to the table with outstanding graphics that are smooth and greatly enhance game play that are also easy on the eye. Even when the screen is packed with other fighters, explosions and raining missile you can still tell what’s going on, where your plane is and where you need to go. Although when the battle was really on I did experience a very small amount of lag.

MiniSquadron starts you out with a slow moving single cannon gun and then goes crazy from there. As you progress into newer, faster, cooler looking and better fire power toting planes are unlocked with total of 56 available planes to unlock you will never get board of one single plane.

This app also has a very fun mutiplayer feature where you can challenge fellow dog fighters using either bluetooth or wifi, I loved the game but the multiplayer was awesome one of the best multiplayer experiences I have had with an iPhone app.

The twist this app adds is it’s not just planes you battle against it’s……. Well I won’t spoil that one for you but you will face all sorts of enemies from all over the galaxy.

Tips

1. If you are near the sides of the map and need a quick turn around bounce off the game border all the way to your left or right and you will quickly bounce back the other directions. You can actually do some cool tricks with this and can come in handy in multi player mode.

2. In the beginning the planes are slow to help gain a quick speed burst climb to the stars (be careful to climb at an angle so you don’t stall) and then fly straight down and make your attack with speed or just because it’s fun to go fast!

Recommendation

MiniSquadron is hands down worth the current 0.99 asking price. At the time of this review I logged about 6 hours playtime with the app and I have a ways to go and lots of planes to unlock. Outstanding graphics and sounds that fit the game very well combined with all the unlockable features make this app a must buy! And remember if you get a bit hung up on the steering don’t give up, you won’t be sorry. There is also a lite version currently available in the app store.

At the time of this review this app is currently on sale for Christmas and New Years then the price goes up.
