Rush on RomeA tower defense game chock full of strategy and with a refreshingly novel setting – those are the features gamers can expect from Rush on Rome, which is being released today for iPad and Mac. In this, the latest creation from the independent game development studio z-software, the player assumes the role of a Roman centurion who must fend off attacks from hostile Gauls, Egyptians and Carthaginians while on a quest to find a mystical artifact.

Players can gain access to various units and fortifications to successfully cut these adversarial hordes down to size, such as encampments with heavily armed legions, mighty catapults and combat towers manned with archers. Moreover, when things get dicey, Rush on Rome players can call on the Roman gods and thus activate different magical powers to briefly paralyze assailants, double one’s own combat strength or strike enemies with a punishing bolt of lightning.

Rush on Rome offers a total of 30 diverse levels. To start, the player advances ever deeper into the various provinces of the Roman Empire in 15 story mode missions on a quest to find a mystical artifact while fighting off endless waves of attackers. Once this is achieved, the player is awarded an additional 15 mission in challenge mode that can only be mastered with the strategic skill of a true Roman commander.
