When it comes to selecting a car charger for any mobile device, specifically the iPhone, there are hundreds upon hundreds of options on the market. My previous car charger from Dynex died within 6 months of ownership, leaving me without a charger for quite some time. I finally came across an awesome car charger this past weekend while previewing a local Best Buy that had just opened. This new charger is called the DLO Auto Charger and is available for the Apple iPhone 3GS, 3G, iPod touch, and iPod.

Retailing at $26.99 through BestBuy, the DLO Auto Charger is a “intelligent car charger for iPhone”. It features a glossy finish with an LED light dubbed “The Intelligent Status Light” which glows red when plugged in and ready to charge, amber when charging, and green when fully charged. The Auto Charger uses a cigarette lighter or 12 volt outlet for power and features a replaceable safety fuse just in case of any electrical surges. It also features a coiled cable that stretches up to 4 feet in length.

Overall, my experiences with the DLO Auto Charger have been very positive with quick charge times and zero issues with the charging unit. The DLO Auto Charger offers a fairly affordable option for charging any iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPod in your car. The charger has a suggested retail price of $24.99 but sells for $26.99 at BestBuy and other retailers.
