Island Entertainment Reinvents GPS Navigation Apps with iGPS for iPhone and iPad

Island Entertainment has launched iGPS, a breakthrough GPS navigation app for iPhone and iPad. iGPS is the first app in its category to offer 12 tools for orientation during all outdoor activities whether you’re jogging, cycling, skiing or simply traveling.

The user gets a high-precise professional compass, a map indicating exact location of the user, a speed meter in miles and kilometers, route tracking function, route mileage in miles and kilometers. Those who do mountaineering, will be excited that the app displays the exact height above sea level in meters and feet, latitude, longitude and allows the user to search by coordinates. On top of this all is direct iPod music playback function, plus a choice of high-quality wallpapers.

The application becomes a useful assistant every time when users go out. For example, if the iPhone user finds himself lost in the woods, the app can help to determine the exact coordinates of his whereabouts, and then he can call 911 to ask for help or try to find the way back to civilization using the built-in map and compass. Also the app can help car drivers when the speedometer has gone dead. You can put the iPhone on the windshield and monitor the speed. For such situations, the app has the Camera Background feature that lets you see the road and speed.

iGPS is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS 4.0 or later.
