pizzahutPizza Hut has been making a killing with their free iPhone app, according to Mobile Marketer. In the three months since its launch, the app which lets customize and place your order from the iPhone or iPod touch, has generated $1 million in sales. Not only does the app let you customize pizza size, toppings, sides, pastas and the like, but it gives you a rather handsome 20% discount on the overall order.

Pizza Hut isn’t the only fast food company to make the move into iPhone territory. The Chipotle iPhone app lets you set up a custom order, which you can then go and pick up from your local burrito joint. It even lets you add notes that the burrito maker will see. The Starbucks app lets you order custom drinks, and in 16 stores on the West Coast, you can even pay via your phone. The Burger Kind app seems rather uninspired, compared to these others, as all it lets you do is order in advance. The Golden Arches have yet to jump on-board the iPhone boat, and Canadian coffee giant Tim Horton’s only have a locator app to tell you where the nearest branch is to you.
