Core77 Fast Track to the Mobile App Competition for Microsoft Windows Phone
Core77 and Microsoft Windows Phone launched the inaugural global competition, Fast Track to the Mobile App, challenging designers to push the boundaries of workplace productivity through apps designed for Windows Phone. The competition, conceived jointly by Core77 editors and the Windows Phone design team, asks designers to rethink how a phone app helps get things done in a mobile world by offering increased productivity and efficiency. Fast Track to the Mobile App competition, which closes on November 18, 2011, entry information can be accessed by visiting http://fasttrackapp.core77.com.
“We ‘work’ everywhere and the device we use everywhere is our phone. We’re challenging designers to find innovative solutions that can be accessed through a Microsoft Windows Phone, and supports work anywhere and everywhere,” said Allan Chochinov, editor-in-chief, Core77.
Fast Track to the Mobile App global design competition challenges designers to find solutions to the demands of the “work everywhere” environment wherein smart phones are the central hub for information work. This challenge can be addressed as better integration of multiple tasks and information streams, or through focus and usability like addressing discreet functionality. This is a design challenge, requiring designers to work within and push the boundaries of a set screen size and interaction points.
Five winners will be chosen by the judging panel. Winning designers receive an App Development Deal (including a revenue-splitting partnership with a registered Windows Phone developer), Windows Phone, Xbox 360 with Kinect, and an App Hub subscription. Additionally, ninety-five finalists will also receive an App Hub subscription with access to free developer tools. And the 25 notables that publish their apps in the Windows Phone Marketplace first will also get a Windows Phone.
The global design challenge, Fast Track to the Mobile App, Call for Entries closes November 18, 2011. For more information, or to enter the Fast Track to the Mobile App competition, visit http://fasttrackapp.core77.com.
