Hopido Frogs you say? Not an average green frog that hops from lily pad to lily pad. Golden frogs, that when hoarded enough, help advance from easier levels, to harder levels. Hopido from Moido Games Ltd. gives you the ability to collect golden frogs for harder puzzles. Sounds fun? Read on for more details.

Review

Hopido is a very easy game to learn with levels that become very advanced as you solve puzzles. There are only two moves you get to play with: hop over two squares vertically or horizontally, and hop over one square diagonally. Sound easy? Well… it is, for the first couple puzzles. Hopido quickly gets harder with more puzzles being unlocked as you advance.

In Hopido, gold frogs are awarded for completing percentages of a level. For 70 percent of a level completed you are awarded one golden frog. For 85 percent you’re awarded two golden frogs, and for 100 percent you’re awarded all three golden frogs for that level. The more frogs that are unlocked, the more available levels there are to choose from. Hopido contains four levels of difficulty – easy, medium, hard and evil with a total of a 120 different puzzles.

Hopido’s art style is a little dull, but that’s to be expected for a puzzle game like this. It’s just mildly more entertaining visually than the most colorful of Sudoku games, but the music is addicting and creates an enjoyable experience.

Recommendation

Hopido from Moido Games Ltd. is a great puzzler for the iPhone and iPod Touch. At a $0.99 price point, it’s great to pick up for a few levels when there’s a couple minutes to blow. Pick this game up if you become easily addicted to simple puzzle games.
