SkeeBall by Freeverse, Inc.The lights are dim and the stench is wreaking havoc on the nostrils of of your gaming nose. Yup, you’re in a nerd infested arcade looking for that perfect game. It consists of brown balls, a track that leads to holes worth different point values attached to them, and lastly, tickets that are granted for a high point total. Skee-Ball is the game, and gathering as many tickets as possible is the goal. Skee-Ball by Freeverse, Inc. is a take on the game most people think of when entering an arcade.

Review

Let’s face it, Skee-Ball is a very simple game in real life, and probably isn’t the most difficult thing to transfer to a game, but sometimes the most simplistic things in life are the hardest things to copy. Skee-Ball for the iPhone and iPod Touch delivers in every aspect of the real life game. Want to earn tickets? Done. Want to redeem those tickets to buy loot from the shop? Done. Want to throw the balls one-by-one not having to wait for the last ball to finish? Done. Skee-Ball feels like the real thing, just digitized.

Skee-Ball’s controls are very easy to learn and become adept at. With a flick of the finger, and a tilt to control the left or right movement of the ball, roll the ball up the ramp and into any of the holes containing different amounts of points. Or, if you’re more into the realistic feeling, make a bowling motion with an iPhone or iPod Touch in hand. Skee-Ball uses the NVIDIA PhysX engine to deliver great hyper-realistic physics for the balls’ rolls and bounces.

Skee-Ball is a part of the Plus+ Network and lets you challenge friends and has score tracking, achievements and leader-boards to keep you playing. The Plus+ Network adds hours of fun and keeps you coming back to acquire more achievements and more high scores. Also, a running total of how many tickets you’ve acquired throughout your playtime is kept up-to-date with high scores on the home screen – another feature that keeps a gamer coming back.

Skee-Ball’s graphics and art style are great, putting you right into the game with its 3D graphics. The sounds feel like they’ve been taken straight out of the machine itself, and offer a great experience.

Recommendation

Skee-Ball by Freeverse, Inc. is a fantastic game. With the extensive features that will keep anyone coming back, Skee-Ball is a must buy for anyone. For $0.99 there’s no reason to pass this game up. Hit that iTunes link. Do it now, you won’t regret it.
