cp3If you’re one of those online shopaholics who simply can’t get enough of surfing the Craigslist website, there’s an app for that. CraigsPro for the iPhone and iPod Touch allows you to essentially browse and post to the popular site much quicker than using the browser.

Review
In order to get started, you must first limit the area of your search. From the Cities button at the bottom of your screen, you can choose the areas to search. Then you can go to the Options tab to filter for certain conditions such as sale price, rental rate, job category, and so forth. Just like the regular Craiglist itself, you can also browse categories such as Jobs, For Sale, Personals and many others. The only reason for the adult age rating is because of the added Personals section alone.

CraigsPro has buttons across the bottom to store favorites, sort listings by category, and search listings by city (you can add or remove cities to widen or narrow your searches). There also is a post tab where you can choose the category, write your post, and immediately attach pictures from your iPhone camera or select images from your iPhone photo library.

The app’s layout will take a little bit to get used to but once you get the hang of it, it’s simple to use. The searches are handled well and sale prices are listed in the top right hand corner shown in a red box so it’s very easy to see.

Overall, CraigsPro, is better than browsing on the actual site. Search results show up with photos and the first few lines of each posting so it makes it easier to find what you’re looking for without having to open up each listing.

Recommendation
CraigsPro comes recommended. If you want a better way of searching or posting to Craigslist on your iPhone or iPod Touch, the $.99 asking price is worth the investment. It has plenty of features and makes surfing the listings a much more pleasant experience. If you want to save your money and don’t mind all the advertising, a CraigsPro Free version is also available for download on the iTunes App Store.

I purchased the Pro version and it works pretty well, but since the December update it's been SPAMing me on every startup to upgrade to the "plus" version. I find it very annoying that an application that I paid for keeps nagging me to buy more!

  2. joel says:

why cant i add a city? im really gettin pissed off.

  3. singlemode says:

Just bought this yesterday, it worked for a day and now I can't add a city either. Wish I'd at least bought it a week ago so I could've gotten some mileage out of it. This REALLY needs to be fixed, app is useless if you can't select a city.

  4. Chris says:

Same thing has happening to me. Worked for a and yesterday it won't show cities. Now it is useless.

  5. RC_ says:

Ive been having problems as well…tried to change categories and now I'm stuck in "best of Craigslist" and cant select a diff category.

  6. Caralo says:

Yeah, mine has stopped working too! Idk what's going on with it, but it pisses me off cuz I paid for this one! I don't want to download a different one, I want this one to work! So if anyone knows why it has stopped…!!

  7. krystal says:

I bought the paid version and even it won't work right. I can add cities, but it won't let me pick a certain one to look in so I have to delete them all except the one I want to search.
Now it's stuck and when I hit 'browse all' (categories), it just says 'empty'.
    WTF?

  8. Steve says:

Glad to see I'm not the only person extremely frustrated. How can you forget to add the ability to search for cities or manually add a city? Someone how I guess Phoenix is't big enough city for this app?
