Pinch 2 HD is  just a simple puzzle game to pass the minutes before a dentist appointment…or is it an addictive game with increasingly difficult levels that suck you in as you try to figure out the mazes as fast as possible?  Puzzle Masters will eagerly embrace this game as it is filled with complicated levels that build in difficulty.

Levels of Pinch 2 HD

Review

The multitouch makes the game controls feel so smooth and natural. The levels build in complexity and the skills needed to pass each level change.  The game is based on guiding colored balls called “Norbs” into a goal to complete  each level.  Norbs begin each level trapped behind gates and force fields that can only be crossed by the matching colored norb while gates can be open by parking a norb on a button. Norbs can be combined or separated using a multitouch gesture. With all of these different operations available to the player so they can solve each puzzle, there is a timer perched at the top of each level taunting you. “Sure, you solved this puzzle, but could you have done it faster”.

Pinch 2 "it's getting tough here"

Pinch 2 is a refresh of Pinch for the iPad, but they have redone so much that this game looks amazing.  The refresh capitalizes on the increased screen real-estate available with the iPad and they use every inch of it.  The puzzles are played out on textured surfaces that add to the visual experience of the game.

Recommendation

The first 20 levels of Pinch 2 HD are FREE in the App Store right now, so there is no reason not to snatch this up and enjoy it. The $4.99 in-app purchase unlocks 80 more levels for an overall total of 100. This is another puzzle game that has an edge because of the complexity of the puzzles, and the quality of the game design.
