Soccer is back better than ever with Gameloft’s newest release, Real Soccer 2010. With more features than ever before, this game delivers 8 leagues, 245 teams and the best part of all – real time multiplayer support!
Review
Real Soccer 2010 is a major improvement over the previous version and will surely please newcomers and die-hard soccer fans alike. In the previous version, you were strictly limited in playing in one league, whereas Real Soccer 2010, not only gives you 8 leagues to choose from, but also 245 teams represented by real life players. Gameloft made sure that he lineups are portrayed as close to the real thing as possible. There are 14 playing fields to choose from and with the addition of a voice commentary, this is as real as you’re going to get.
In Real Soccer 2010, you can play as your favorite player or team and guide them to winning a specific cup. You can also manage a team throughout its entire season while doing trades. An added “Enter the Legend” mode, allows you to play as a single player for the entire season, giving you total control over that particular player’s growth.
Players can see how well they stack up against other Real Soccer 2010 players on an online leaderboard and showcase their best replays on YouTube. With the built in RSS feed, you can also get the latest soccer scores as you play. The best feature of all with this game is the added real time multiplayer capability through both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections. This allows you to play online or against another iPhone owner close by. You can also compete in Gameloft Live! and establish your online soccer rankings.
Compared to the previous version, Real Soccer 2010 provides stunning graphics and much improved game controls. The d-pad used during gameplay is much more responsive and with the added touchscreen ability to switch your players, you no longer have any excuses for missing that goal or defending against the other teams.
Gameloft has not only improved upon the previous version but clearly have gone above and beyond the call of duty in delivering the closest rendition yet to real life soccer in Real Soccer 2010. With a beautifully designed menu interface, gameplay graphics and commentaries, you can’t help but be absorbed in the game. And yes, you can also listen to your iPod collection, if you need more inspiration.
Recommendation
Real Soccer 2010 comes highly recommended to newcomers and diehard soccer fans alike. It is available now at the iTunes App Store for $6.99 and believe me when I say it’s worth every cent of its asking price. The game comes loaded with so many features that it will surely keep you entertained for many days to come.
