Sprint to Give Away 500 Hero Android Phones to Developers

HTC HeroSprint is getting ready for their 9th annual developers conference and this year, the focus is on Android.

Google engineers will be discussing Android development and Sprint will be giving away 500 free Hero phones to developers. The registration fee is $350.

Attendees will learn how to leverage the full suite of open development capabilities available from Sprint for:

  • Mobile Devices (Android, Mobile Java, Palm Mojo, RIM Blackberry, Web Development, Windows Mobile, etc.)
  • Network/Product Capabilities (LBS, Messaging, M2M, 4G, etc.)

When: October 26-28, 2009
Where: Santa Clara Convention Center, Santa Clara, CA

    To put it into perspective, the phone comes with a $180 price tag along with a 2 year plan of at a minimum of $70/month (Sprint has great coverage). But of course, we're going for the developer conference, right? :)
