Frog ClaSh SD is a casual game for the iPhone and iPod Touch that will put your reflexes to the test. Four frogs sit in a row as insects, candy, and other items fly pass them. You have to tap on the screen below the frog of your choice to get it to stick out its long tongue. Ideally, you should do so at just the right moment to catch the right item, which includes all insects except the green ones. You may also score extra points by grabbing passing candy (worth 200 points). Catching bubblegum instead won’t hurt the frog, but temporarily put it out of action, as it’ll blow the gum until it pops.

The game is simple at heart, fast-paced, and pretty challenging. You’ll need excellent timing to catch all the edible objects while managing to avoid the bad stuff. As you progress through the stages, you’ll be able to take advantage of several combinations. Using a green frog to catch both types of green insects and combining them with a gold star or TNT will each earn you ten dollars, and a red heart will revive a dead green frog. At a later stage, the game will get yet more challenging, where you’ll have to feed the frogs with orbs that match the frogs in color.

Frog ClaSh’s tap controls are easy enough for kids to play, although the game’s pace and difficulty ramps up considerably as you progress through the levels. If you miss too many insects you may not score enough points to pass a level and get to the next. Managing four frogs certainly isn’t easy.

Tips
Try to catch as much as you can with the blue frog to have your points multiplied by four. The green frog will give you three times the points, the yellow frog double, and the red frog reaps only the base points.

Frog ClaSh SD is recommended to casual gamers who enjoy a good challenge of their reflexes and timing. The game is currently available in the App Store for $0.99.
