Personal Hotspot Coming to All iPhone 4 Devices With iOS 4.3 Update

We first saw the report this morning from BGR and now it appears that Redmond Pie also reports that the hotspot feature on Verizon’s new iPhone will soon be available to all iPhone 4 users “in the coming months” with the iOS 4.3 update. According to their report, all you will need to do is to change some settings in the preferences bundle and of course, to get your carrier to support it.

I don’t know about you, but I seriously doubt that AT&T would allow this without charging its users an arm and a leg! I suppose I’ll believe it when I see it applies here.

I believe that with verizon now entering the Iphone market, AT&T had better loosen the restriction belt on there data and the pricing plans. As for AT&T’s current customers, the introduction of Verizon into the market could be a good thing. We now have a choice of carriers, pricing and coverage areas. I have been a customer of AT&T’s since the iphone was introduced, but as many others have complained, if we wanted an Iphone, we had to adhere to AT&T’s terms. Now hopefully that will change. Mike
