There are alot of games in the app store that boast to strech your mind and push you to the limits of your thinking, but none of them so far have done it for me. Until Enigmo 2 by Pangea Software. This game is actually difficult and will have your head aching (as it has mine)

Review

This is a physics strategy game testing your brain power to the limit. The aim is to fill a container with water, laser or plasma beams in space using items that deflect or control the droplets or beams in some way. You gain 1000 points for passing the level but you can get bonus points for finishing it before the bonus score dwindles to zero. Seems easy enough but it is really complicated. This app is the most challenging game on the app store that I have ever played. Steam came out of my ears at several points whilst trying to work out how to fill up the containers. As you go through the levels there are more gadgets added to help you through, you also have to effect other buttons to start the water flowing which again increases the difficulty. If thats not hard enough, the water, laser or plasma that you have collected can evaporate into thin air! Your gonna need your thinking caps for this one guys, and a wall for smashing your head against would come in handy for letting out the old frustration.

Graphics are pretty spectacular, I have to say. The whole scene is hung in space, in 3D and it does a fantastic job. It’s colouful and futuristic but also dark and lonely. The music adds to this felling as well. The musical themes are quite emotional, and give the feeling that you are alone in space and that all you have to do is this puzzle. The water sound effect does make you need the toilet though which is a little unnecessary!

The game controls are also a little tricky as we are in a world of 3D but you get used to it after a while. You drag the scene to move right and left, pinch to zoom in and out, normal 3D controls really. You can drag the tools you wish to use to the screen twist them around using the circular guide around them. This is a bit fiddly but not to much of an inconvienience.

Recommendation

I recommend this game for anyone who wants a challenge, but NOT someone who wants a challenge they can do – if you see what I mean. This game is for people who really want to be tested. I have only managed to get to the 6th level – see if you can beat me! Its in the app store now for $2.99 only for a limited time so be quick! (its normally $3.99)
