Romance of the Three Kingdoms 2 by Koei has made an appearance recently on the U.S. App Store giving some strategic depth to iDevice gamers. The first game, called Romance of the Three Kingdoms Touch, has been known as quite complex and hardcore compared to most of the offerings on the App Store so far and this one shouldn’t be any less lenient on strategy.

According to the App Store description, this is an updated version of the original Romance of the Three Kingdoms II. This time around there over 100 more officers at the player’s disposal than the first iDevice game and this brings the total number to over 350.

The Romance of the Three Kingdoms games span a whole list of gaming systems and the series has gained quite a long and loyal fan base. The games are based on Chinese mythology and history, and around wars fought among heroes and generals in ancient China. The Warring States period is the central theme of many of the games and was fought in China among different sections or warlords for land and power.

“Taking control of famous officers such as Cao Cao, Liu Bei, and Sun Quan among others, players will have the chance to become one of the key figures that determined the fate of ancient China and attempt to unify the land.”

Although the U.S. App Store release is listed as of Dec. 22 on the Koei web page, the App Store description lists the release on Dec. 16 so there must be some confusion or overlap difference between the Japanese App Store release and U.S. one.
