Spencer, Virginia – Offensive Billiards, LLC, is bringing the patented Bank Shot Calculator to the global billiard market. This device will calculate one rail bank shots, one rail kick shots and two rail kick shots and will be followed by more advanced models offering advanced features at affordable prices.

The Bank Shot Calculator is easy to use:
1. Start the app and you will see a pool table
2. Position the object ball on the BSC’s pool table
3. Touch the rail you want to hit
4. Touch the target pocket
5. The shot is displayed and a numerical solution explains where to hit the rail
6. Double tap to zoom in on the impact point and see exactly where to hit the rail by aid of the patented “rail ruler”

Previously, no tool allowed a player to replicate their bank shot, calculate a solution for the shot, or take the shot with them to study later. But now there’s the Bank Shot Calculator. Calculate any bank shot, any where, any time, no table required. “I spent 38 years dreaming of having a bank shot. I turned that dream into a reality and so can you”. Read my story and see how necessity truly is the mother of invention.

“I grew up in an era when pool hustlers were admired, but their knowledge was guarded like intellectual property. Nothing was given away. Even if I played for large sums of money and lost – the knowledge that defeated me was never shared for fear the tables would be turned. I started hustling pool when I was 19. I was unable to make bank shots but I thought the strengths of my game would carry me. I was wrong. I played pool in many places; from most I emerged victorious but too many times I was defeated by my opponent’s ability to play safe and my lack of knowledge of where to hit the rail.

So, after 38 years of banking in the blind I decided the solution to my ignorance was not going to come to me on the pool table. I needed to solve this problem using the same process I used for 20 years in the world’s most challenging arena, the Navy’s SEAL Teams. Having identified the problem I broke it into manageable parts; I found a solution to each part, and then reassembled them.

1. Ball position had to be identifiable from any point on the table.

On sniper missions I used a map to find and range my target. So I turned the table into a map and was able to identify the final resting point (FRP) of any ball on the table. Snipers call this the final firing position (FFP); from the FFP a Navy SEAL sniper acquires his target and takes his shot and so it is for the pool player from the FRP.

2. Next I needed a target – How I came up with this is the ‘Secret Sauce’ behind the Bank Shot Calculator, and I am not telling! Besides, if I did, I’d have to …

3. Target alignment and a steady sight picture are vitality important.

Navy SEAL snipers use a 10x scope and a bi-pod. On my prototype I used a plotting arm and guide. The sight picture through a sniper’s scope is marked by the vertical line which is equivalent to the plotting arm. The horizontal line in the scope is equivalent to the rail. Where the two cross marks the shooters target in either case.

4. The cross hair in my scope had three dots on either side of the vertical line.

This idea is now the patented rail ruler. It divides each diamond into eight equal increments and marks them for ease of recognition.

I now had bank shots in my bag of tricks. All I needed was a victim. I invited a friend over. I shared my new creation with him and he made a comment which nine years ago started me on a path that is sure to change how pool is played all over the world. “

This Fall Offensive Billiards, LLC, is bringing the patented Bank Shot Calculator to the global billiard market. The (Bank Shot Calculator lite) model will be offered as a free ad-supported download from iTunes. Advanced Ad-Free models will follow starting with the Bank Shot Calculator – $5.99 which calculates one rail bank shots, one rail kick shots and two rail kick shots. These will be followed by more advanced models offering advanced features at affordable prices

The Bank Shot Calculator is the first of its kind and will surely change how people view bank and kick shots. Safety play will become less of a deciding factor of important matches as players, knowing their opponents can make any shot on the table, will start taking chances and playing more offensively. This will in turn make pool more exciting and should draw larger crowds to the league environment.

Offensive Billiards LLC owns sole proprietary rights to the new, patented Bank Shot Calculator (BSC). This technology provides the user a unique and mathematically proven calculating device which calculates and displays the precise impact point on the rail of a billiard table the user must strike enabling the user to successfully and consistently execute the most difficult bank and/or kick shots.

Bank Shot – defined as causing an object ball to strike a rail, rebounding to a specific pocket or location on the billiard table.
Kick Shot – defined as causing the cue ball to strike a rail, rebounding to a specific location on the billiard table striking and causing an object ball to relocate to a desired pocket or location on the billiard table.

This technology will be provided to the billiard market in the form of an electronic application, (initially through Apple’s iPhone market) downloadable to iphones/devices, and later through the Droid market, provided as a stand-alone electronic calculator (over the counter sales) and as a mechanical devise for teachers.

Device Requirements:
* iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad
* Requires iOS 3.1 or later
* 0.6 MB

Pricing and Availability:
Bank Shot Calculator 1.0 is $5.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Sports category.
