Holiday Sales Give App Developers a Boost

By on Dec 1, 2010 at 6:55 am

According to a recent report gathered by Flurry, an application analytics and monetization platform used by apps that include iOS, Android and BlackBerry, app developers saw a dramatic increase in sales by 31% over the entire weekend, with new devices going up by 57%.

Most apps were sold on Thursday, as consumers took every advantage of the widespread app sales offered by developers and continuing on throughout the weekend. It would appear that despite the record number of new devices sold on Black Friday, most of them are still under wraps just waiting to be opened on Christmas Day.

If this is any indication of things to come, app developers will surely be in for a treat after the holiday, once new owners begin their quest in filling up their new toys.
