iPad Toy Cash Register appeals to Preschoolers and Elementary Students
Sharon Springs, New York – Independent Software Developer “Pattrns.com” is celebrating the success of its preschool targeted iPhone App, “Toy Cash Register” with an upgrade, a new release, and an app scholarship. Since June of 2010 when the application was approved by Apple to be sold on iPhones and the iPod touch, the Toy Cash Register game has been downloaded over 10,000 times.
“My five year old daughter is my focus group, most of my applications are designed to help stretch my programming ability or to help quiz my kids with their schoolwork. When I asked my children what iPhone app I should develop next my five year old informed me she needed a Toy Cash Register, and I went to work.” said Andrew Smith, the developer behind the Toy Cash Register for iOS.
The software, available in the iTunes App Store, is designed to be used to play store. Initially it was nothing more than a fancy calculator, similar to many toy cash registers you can find in the real world. As downloads grew, and more features were requested, the app itself grew. Now four different register designs are available and with the release of the iPad app in the fall of 2010 the ability to open the drawer and play with money from many different countries was introduced.
The upgrade made available this week has banknotes in the drawer that are representative of the United States and Canada, and an additional ten other countries are represented in currencies available as in app purchases.
The “Ultimate” version of Toy Cash Register has also been approved by Apple and is available for $2.99 (USD). This version includes all currencies that do not ship with the basic version. The reviews in the iTunes store shed some light into what is fast becoming a choice electronic device for preschoolers everywhere.
In order to further promote the application, the developer has dedicated 45 of it’s available App Promo Codes to an App Scholarship, for any U.S. user that tags their name in a promotion photo on the Toy Cash Register’s facebook page. The first 45 users to tag themselves will receive a promotion code they can use to receive a free version of the application.
