CoolPapers Pro is a wallpaper app that has a pretty impressive selection of backgrounds and wallpapers that have been sized for the iPhone. At the time of this review the app had over 50,000 different wallpapers to choose from, with more being added daily. There are a bunch of free wallpaper apps out there but this app offers a massive selection, updates and some pretty neat features.

When you first open the app, you are brought to the featured page where some of the top backgrounds are showcased. The next tab is browse. From here, you can access all of the wallpapers this app has. You can simply look through them all or by specific categories such as celebrities, brands, movies, TV shows, cars, schools, animals, and more. Once you select a category, you are brought to another group of categories that breaks that selection down even more to help you browse the right spots. The browse is set up really nice and makes it easy to find what you are looking for without getting lost in the massive selection. The next section if favorites, from here you can access wallpapers you have added to your favorite list while browsing using the “like” button that is available on each wallpaper page. The next tab is search; again, this one is pretty self-explanatory but a very useful feature.

This app has a massive selection and more are being added all the time, it’s a very well put together app and they did a great job making the view process easy to navigate. The app currently does not support HD wallpapers for the iPhone 4 but the developers tell me an updated adding higher resolution has been submitted to Apple.

Recommendation

CoolPapers Pro is currently $2.99 in the App Store and although that might seem a little high priced with all the free apps available once you experience the selection and set up you will feel you got plenty of value for your money. I recommend this app to any iPhone users who are always looking for new quality wallpapers with no ads and easy to use search and browsing selection. You can also check out the lite version that will let you download five wallpapers but will give you a great idea of how the app functions and quality of the images.
