Review

Flipstones is a matching puzzle game, in which you can play the challenge mode or endless mode. In the challenge mode, you must move and switch stones of like colors to create specified patterns, such as triangles or hexagons while a conveyor drops extra stones on the game board while playing creating a challenge!  When these shapes are created you create a larger stone which then depending on their color, gives you special abilities during game play. The higher the level the more difficult the patterns and the more stones fall. Endless play is self explanatory where you play to the highest level you can reach.

The graphics are pretty nice with bright and colorful images, all controlled with your finger. The pause is located at the upper left corner, making it easy to pause in the middle of a game and pick back up where you left off. The sounds and music are very whimsical, but optional.

The game is fun and a bit of a challenge, but I did find that it was difficult to get the stone to move where you wanted them to, when you wanted them to. For someone with larger finger, I could not imagine playing this game. The stones are pretty small and hard to maneuver, even with tiny fingertips. There is a lot to remember from one level to the next, but a great game for the puzzle lover. It is a good mixture of Bejewled and Tetris.

Tips

1. Remember the special effects the large stones have, it comes in handing when you are in a crunch.

2. Move QUICKLY! The conveyor belt moves faster the faster you move!

Recommendations

I found it a bit hard to play so I would recommend it for adults who really enjoy puzzle like games under pressure! It will soon be up for grabs in the App store.
