Android 2.2 (Froyo) Update Coming to Nexus One Owners Over-the-Air

Officially announced late Monday night, Android software 2.2 (project name “Froyo”) will gradually be made available to all Nexus One users in the form of over-the-air downloads.

The news comes from Google’s Nexus One blog:

Starting today, Nexus One users will begin to receive the Android 2.2 (codenamed Froyo) over-the-air software update on their phones. This update provides some great new features including support for making your handset a portable hotspot and support for Adobe Flash within the browser. As mentioned earlier, this update will hit the Nexus One user base gradually, so if you have one, be on the look out for a message in your notification bar. Google expects all updates should be pushed by the end of this week.
